Introducing the Tri-Agency Earth Observing Dashboard (EOD) by NASA, ESA, and JAXA...

International collaboration among space agencies is central to the success of satellite Earth observations and data analysis, aiming at providing an accurate and timely information to decision-makers, main stakeholders and public. These partnerships foster more comprehensive measurements, robust datasets, and cost-effective missions (EOD, 2022).

The European Space Agency (ESA), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have combined their resources, technical knowledge, and expertise to produce this Earth Observing Dashboard, which strengthens our understanding of global environmental changes and other societal challenges impacting our planet (EOD, 2022).

The dashboard provides an easy-to-use resource for all kinds of public from the scientist to the decision-maker, including people not familiar with satellites. Based on accurate remote sensing observations, the EOD showcases examples of global environmental changes on 7 themes: Atmosphere, Oceans, Biomass, Cryosphere, Agriculture, Covid-19 and Economy. The dashboard offers a precise, objective and factual view without any artifacts of our planet. Users can explore countries and regions around the world to see how the indicators in specific locations changed over time. ESA, JAXA, and NASA will continue to enhance this dashboard as new data becomes available (EOD, 2022).

On the 3rd of June the GGKP Gender Expert Group hold the Achieving a Healthy Planet for all Through a Gender-Just Recovery side event at Stockholm+50.

This event aimed to explore why gender equality needs to be a central component of global environmental action and to the ambitions of a better post-COVID world. It spotlighted the opportunities and limitations of our current just transition models, and further highlighted how gender transformative approaches helps in fulfilling our commitment to combating the three planetary crises.

The event was a success, attended by nearly 200 people both online and in-person. Speakers included Sarah Hendriks, Director Programme, Policy and Intergovernmental Division at UN Women; Madeleine Diouf Sarr UNFCCC LDC Chair; Dr. Saleemul Huq Director of the International Centrer for Climate Change and Development; Bhavna Choudhury Founder of The Indegenous; Sheila Oparaocha Director of ENERGIA International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy and Dr. Pem Narayan Kandel, Secretary, Ministry of Forestry and Environment, Nepal. The event was moderated by Ingvild Solvang , Deputy Director and Head of Climate Action and Inclusive Development, Global Green Growth Institute.

UNICEF: An Unstoppable Force for Change in the Lives of Our Precious Children Around the World...

Since the UN International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) was first established in the aftermath of World War II, these wonderful people have been at the frontlines of humanitarian crises, armed conflict and natural disasters. Undeterred by the scale of the crises, they have risen to every challenge, reimagining what is possible and responding by helping millions of children survive and thrive. Their on-the-ground expertise has reached more than 191 countries and territories, through committed partnerships and a passion for innovation (UNICEF, 2022).

For 75+ years, UNICEF has been working tirelessly for child rights and for the well-being of every child. UNICEF is the world’s largest provider of vaccines, and supports children's health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation.

The COVID-19 pandemic has raised concerns about the mental health of a generation of children. But the pandemic may represent the tip of a mental health iceberg – an iceberg we have ignored for far too long (UNICEF, 2021).
The State of the World’s Children 2021 examines child, adolescent and caregiver mental health. It focuses on risks and protective factors at critical moments in the life course and delves into the social determinants that shape mental health and well-being. It calls for commitment, communication and action as part of a comprehensive approach to promote good mental health for every child, protect vulnerable children and care for children facing the greatest challenges (UNICEF, 2021).

I propose to shift the way of thinking:
1. First and primordial change mindset is to create the Earth/Planet Rights Law, in which the Human Rights Law is included.
2. Second change mindset is to be aware to the electromagnetic field (EMF) that we are creating by electrification of everything, and to fill this lacuna on the Sustainable Development Goals as a subchapter in the chapter of Atmosphere Rights Law.

Cities are facing many challenges and institutional barriers in making peace with nature and fighting biodiversity loss. However, Nature Based Solutions (NBS) can be powerful allies to support ecosystem regeneration, fight climate change while bringing socio-economic benefits for urban populations.

Stockholm+50 main aim is to recognize the importance of multilateralism in tackling the Earth’s triple planetary crisis – climate ?, nature ? and pollution ? – and act as a springboard in accelerating the implementation of the UN Decade of Action to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals, including the 2030 Agenda, Paris Agreement on climate change, the post-2020 global Biodiversity Framework and encourage the adoption of green post-COVID-19 recovery plans.

From an evolutionary point of view, I have proved that mental evolution is our only way to survive and to thrive in the long run.

Why We Need Mental Evolution

*Physical evolution has its limits in the long term.
The fact that the Earth won’t last forever poses the greatest challenge to all the lives on the planet. No matter how successfully life forms have physically evolved on the Earth, they will inevitably go extinct once their home planet disappears. Different directions of evolution must be chosen by any species with the ambition to discover the ultimate truth about the universe.

*The evolution of intelligent species is no longer physical but mental.
Driven by natural selection, physical evolution takes a long time because genetic characteristics are only passed on to offspring. In contrast, mental evolution can be accelerated by wills because knowledge and wisdom can be shared with everyone by means of speech, book and electronic data.
Thanks to intelligence, we have become the dominant species on the planet. Making continuous improvements in our intellectual ability, I believe, will help us not only deal with global crises like climate change but also thrive in bigger environments than the Earth’s.

*Intelligent revolutions are needed to speed up human evolution.
Happy learning is perhaps the best way to improve our brainpower. To start intelligent revolutions, I suggest providing everybody with so many books and films in digital form that most people would enjoy art and science for a whole life. All creative works should be free for everyone while their intellectual property must be protected.
If intelligent species ever fail in survival, it’s only because they haven’t got enough time to become intelligent enough. Let’s start evolving mentally sooner than later.
