This report analyses the approaches being taken by some leading cities to implement a zero emission area (ZEA). 

This report is aimed at decision-makers in signatory cities who are interested in comparing approahces and ambitious in other cities; and those in non-signatory cities who are contemplating signing the C40 Green and Healthy Streets Declaration and are seeking inspiration on how they might acheive those commitments. 

This report sets out what a ZEA means in practice, the benefits they can bring to cities, and implementation pathways cities are taking – there are four distinct implementation approaches emerging across the signatory cities. Finally, it explains the ZEA designs and plans in Amsterdam, Auckland, Barcelona, London, Milan, Oslo, Oxford and Seoul. Find extracts from two of these case studies below.
