How to boost the EPDs implementation in SMEs? How important an EPD can be to achieve a more circular and sustainable production in SMEs? This blog proposal will give focus on good examples of companies facing this challenge as well as the importance to promote better and create incentives for EPD developments by SMEs. EPDs are a good way to communicate with target audiences interested in sustainable production and consumption patterns. In emerging economies, it is well known that SMEs are the base of such economies, so implementing an EPD in an SME can be seen as a trigger to enhance more practices on sustainable and circular production and consumption and facilitate getting access to new markets. However, the EPD development, validation, and publication process are costly and that is a real limitation for SMEs. This blog proposal will discuss, therefore, this challenge with a special focus on Latín American countries.
